(first couple of lines from a rough transcript) Ann Burton of Earls Colne widow weak soul to god his son and holy ghost body to earth to be decently buried made 28.9.1653 to Geo March my son in law 10li (rest verbatim) of good and lawful money of England to be paid to him within one month next ensuing after that my under named executor shall receive the 50li and the interest that shall be due unto him from Robt Potter of Earls Colne aforesaid yeoman upon his bond item I will and my true intent and meaning is that the silver beaker which I lent unto Ann the now wife of the said Geo March my daughter shall be delivered unto Sam Burton my son for the only proper use and behoof of Sam Burton the younger my grandchild his son and his heirs and assigns forever also I give and bequeath unto the said Sam Burton my grandchild my silver bowl item I give and bequeath the full sum of 30li of good and lawful money of England being part of the money which Robt Potter my neighbour oweth me and is indebted unto me to be laid out by Sam Burton my said son to buy a house for the use and behoof of Grace the now wife of Thos Waight my daughter for and during the term of her natural life and after her death to the only proper use and behoof of the heirs of her body lawfully begotten and to be begotten forever item I give and bequeath unto the said Grace Waight my daughter the bedstead whereon she now lieth with a bed bolster blankets and coverlet also I give and bequeath unto her my table now standing in my hall and two joined stools two kettles which I usually wash in and the trundlebed where her children lieth item I give and bequeath unto Sarah Waight my grandchild the sum of 10li of good and lawful money of England which is now due and owing unto me from Edw Potter of Earls Colne aforesaid yeoman my neighbour also I give and bequeath unto the said Sarah Waight my grandchild the bedstead now standing in the dairy and the little joined hutch now standing at the tables end in the parlour and a little trunk item I give and bequeath unto Ann Waight Grace Waight and Sam Waight my three grandchildren the full sum of 20s apiece of good and lawful money of England item I give and bequeath unto Susanna Burton my grandchild the bedstead whereon I now lie with the curtains and rods thereunto belonging and my joined chairs and my best kettle save one item I give and bequeath unto Mehetable Burton my grandchild my great cupboard now standing in the hall and the livery table standing in the parlour and a wrought chair and two stools belonging to the same my best kettle and best brass pot four of the best pewter dishes my great chest standing within the parlour door being cyprous one item I give and bequeath unto Mary Burton my grandchild my long table now standing in the parlour and the carpet and a great joined chest item I give and bequeath unto Isaac Burton my grandchild the full sum of 5li of good and lawful money of England item I give and bequeath unto Ann Burton Jn Burton Eliz Burton and Wm Burton my grandchildren the full sum of 20s apiece of good and lawful money of England item I give and bequeath unto Jacob the son of Rich Burton my grandchild the full sum of 20s of good and lawful money of England all the rest of my goods whatsoever or wheresoever unbequeathed my debts and legacies being paid and my body decently buried I do give and bequeath unto the said Sam Burton my son whom I do make and ordain to be my only sole executor to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day month and year above written mark Ann Burton sealed acknowledged published and declared to be her last will and testament in the presence of us Wm Addams writer mark Thos Garrad
