this is a rough sketch not taken to any scale - no. 1186 - 2a1r is called Hedingham Harrows - so marked in the commutation map of Sible Hedingham
The Harrows is parcel of lands copyhold of the Priory manor, lying together in the parishes of Sible and Castle Hedingham and Great Maplestead and not mapped or described in the Terrier of 1598 - the portion containing 10a to which mrs E. Sewell was admitted in 1846 is parcel of her farm called Hopwells - and lies within the parish of Great Maplestead except the 2a1r - in Sible Hedingham. For other parts of this copyhold see the admission of Chas Eglinton Thorne and the Gosfield vicars. The title is curious. I have traced it from 1562 - with the apportionment of quitrents etc. and appended it to the map (in series of manorial maps no. 3) - see also rough abstract of title no. 17
