Copyhold of Priory - quitrent 4s Ballards 20.4.1859 quitrent of 2s6d apportioned on the part enfranchised leaving a quitrent of 1s6d on the residue of Ballards Garden

Thos Wing 30.8.1803 Jas Wing was admitted on death of his father and surrender of executors - to a portion of the premises called Ballards Garden with a stable thereon erected and to a right of way on the west side of the said premises to the said stable about 8ft wide on the west side of the tenement called Ballards Garden etc.

At same court Thos Wing was admitted on death of his father Jas and surrender of executors - to all that other part of the said premises called Ballards Garden (lying west) whereon a barn and other buildings are erected etc.

22.9.1827 the said Thos Wing on the death of his brother Jas is admitted to the first part as above - whereby the whole premises are now in Thos Wing

Ballards lies to the west of Booms, next the White Lion - The two premises have been so long in the possession of the same parties that it would be difficult now to locate them separately with any certainty - although they are copyhold of different manors. The greater part of Boomes consists of a good house with extensive business premises with stable and garden etc. Ballards is chiefly occupied by a barn and numerous farm buildings etc.

20.4.1859 Zach Farrants enfranchised parcel of a tenement called Ballards Garden abutting west on a free tenement called The White Lion - and on another parcel of the premises called Ballards Garden - and extending 41ft in front towards Church Street to the south and running backwards towards the north 135ft abutting there on a copyhold field belonging to rev Robt Watkinson - estimated apportioned# rent £6 - Farrants aged 50 - paid for enfranchisement £25 and all expenses of enfranchisement
