and also at this court it is shown by the homage that after the last court and before this court Nich Pierce and Alice his wife surrendered into the hands of the lord of the aforesaid manor one parcel of land parcel of Haynes and Clotes in the presence of Barth Clarke instead of the bailiff in the presence of Thos Prior and Jn Read two customary tenants of this same manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor to the use and behoof of Sam Brewer and his heirs upon the condition however that the aforesaid Nich Pierce or Alice his wife or their heirs or assigns should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Sam Brewer his heirs or assigns the full and entire sum of 6li12s of good and lawful english money at or upon the feast day of michaelmas 29.9.1620 in or at the now dwelling house of the said Sam situated in Colne Engaine that then the present surrender should be void otherwise it should remain in full force and strength
