and furthermore at this court it was shown by the homage that Roger Bewers one of the customary tenants of the aforesaid manor after the last court and before this court viz 6.6.1628 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Edw Potter instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Read and Robt Crowe two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor one tenement and curtilage with appurtenances known by the name or names of Agnes Bridge or by any other name or names it may be called then in the tenure and occupation of the aforesaid Roger Bewers or his assigns to the use and behoof of Giles Crowe and his heirs forever upon the condition that if the aforesaid Roger Bewers his heirs executors or assigns should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Giles his heirs or assigns the sum of 34s9d of legal money of England in or upon 7.6.1629 in or at the dwelling house of the said Robt Crowe situated in Earls Colne that then the surrender should be void and of no force
