and furthermore whereas at a court here held 16.10.1633 it was shown by the homage of the said court that Thos Machyn who held for himself and his heirs one close or parcel of arable land called Andrewes with appurtenances at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the surrender of Edw Cressner gentleman died thus seised thereof without heirs of his body legitimately procreated and that Jn Machyn was brother and heir of the said Thos upon which at the said court the aforesaid Jn Machyn was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to the aforesaid close or parcel of land with appurtenances as by a roll of the aforesaid court it plainly appears and afterwards he entered into the premises and took the rents and profits thereof now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said Jn Machyn after the last general court and before this court died thus seised thereof without heirs of his body procreated and that Rich Machyn yeoman is his blood relative of the same blood and next heir viz son and heir of Rich Machyn of Writtle deceased brother of Thos Machyn of Earls Colne deceased father of the said Thos Machyn and Jn and should have the right to the premises upon which to this court came the aforesaid Rich Machyn and humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have the aforesaid closes or parcel of land with appurtenances to himself and his heirs forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine etc
