and furthermore whereas at a view with court here held 13.10.1637 Thos Smith was admitted tenant of the lord for his lifetime to one orchard or parcel of land containing by estimation 1r the remainder thereof to Mary Baker wife of Antho Baker for her lifetime the remainder thereof to Sigismund Baker and his heirs forever as by a roll of the aforesaid court it appears now at this court it is shown by the homage that before this court the aforesaid Thos Smith died upon which came here into court the aforesaid Mary by the said Antho Baker her deputy and attorney and sought admittance to whom the same said Mary by her said deputy and attorney the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid orchard or parcel of land with appurtenances to the aforesaid Mary and her assigns for her lifetime from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and the fine for the aforesaid admission was assessed at 10s of legal money of England to be paid now to the lord of the aforesaid manor or his assigns upon 7.4.next at the dwelling house of the lord called Colne Priory
