whereas at a court held for the said manor 17.4.10Jas1 Wm Collins and Isabel his wife were admitted tenants to them and the heirs of the body of the said Isabel lawfully begotten to one grovet or bushet called Colne Grove also Cole Grove lying in Halsted and containing by estimation 1a2r more or less the remainder thereof to Geo Sewell and his heirs and whereas the said Wm Collins and Isabel are since dead and whereas at a court held for the said manor 2.11.1653 it was presented by the homage that Geo Collins of Halstead weaver by the name of Geo Collins son and heir to the said Wm Collins and Isabel his wife did since the last court that is to say upon 2.6.1653 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm Tompson instead of the bailiff in the presence of Dan Lea and Rich Fisher two customary tenants of the said manor the same witnessing the said premises by the name of one tenement with a yard and garden thereunto belonging then in the occupation of Barber together with all that his close of land to the said tenement adjoining called Cole Grove then in the occupation of Thos Copping and all his possession interest and demand reversion and remainder of the same to the use of Kellam Collins citizen and saddler of London and of his heirs but whether the said Geo be lawful son and heir of the said Wm Collins and Isabel the then homage did not know and to this court came the said Kellam Collins and desired to be admitted tenant to the said premises at his own peril to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said premises to the said Kellam his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services due and accustomed and he paid his fine and so was admitted tenant saving the right of Mary the wife of Andrew Sanders citizen and girdler of London who pretends herself to be right heir of the body of the said Isabel begotten
