it is shown by the homage that the said Barth Church before this court and after the last court viz 2.1.1623 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Reade instead of the bailiff in the presence of Rich Kempe and Barth Clarke two customary tenants the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor one pightle of land called Wardes lately built on the same in the tenure of Jn Little and afterwards of Jn Warde situated and lying in the said Colne viz between the garden late of Roger Booner towards the west and the garden now or lately of Jn Tillwicke towards the east and south and the common street thereof towards the north which he took for himself and his heirs at a view with court here held 18.3.1590 to the use and behoof of Edw Browne his heirs and assigns forever to whom the same said Edw present here in court the lord by his said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have for himself and his heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he paid his fine and made fealty and was admitted thereof tenant etc
