at this court it is shown by the homage that Rose Rosse widow late the wife of Edw Rosse deceased and before the wife of Robt Partridge deceased and before the wife of Jeff Cuckoe deceased after the last court and before this court died and that Rose held to herself and her assigns the remainder thereunto to the lord of the said manor and his heirs 6a of wooded land parcel of a grove called Coggsgrove divided and taken from the rest of the said grove and joining the demesne lands of the said manor called Colne Park as is clearly shown here in court by the surrender thereof according to the custom by the said Rose under the name of Rose Partridge widow dated 26.2.1613 whereupon the lord of the said manor granted from his hands the said 6a of wooded land with appurtenances to Roger Harlakenden gentleman his brother and the heirs and assigns of the said Roger Harlakenden and by the said steward granted and delivered him seisin by the rod to have the said 6a of wooded land with appurtenances to the said Roger Harlakenden his heirs and assigns forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by fealty suit of court and the rent of 6d per annum to be paid at the customary payment feast within the said manor and the said Roger by such a grant gave to the lord his fine etc and was admitted tenant and afterwards in the same court and the court sitting came the said Roger Harlakenden and surrendered in full and open court into the hands of the lord by the hands of his said steward the said 6a of wooded land with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Edw Alleston of Earls Colne gentleman and Mabel his wife and the heirs of his body to the last born of the said Edw and default of such issue the remainder thereof to the use of the said Edw and his heirs and assigns forever to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have to them and the heirs of the body to the last born of the said Edw the remainder thereof in the said form to have from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by fealty suit of court and the rent of 6d per annum and they gave to the lord their fine and made fealty and were admitted tenants thereof
