at this court it was shown by the homage that Barth Clerke customary tenant of the said manor after the last court viz 23.6.1669 surrendered into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Rich Appleton instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Ralph Josselin clerk and Jn Clerke two customary tenants of the said manor the same testifying etc a certain parcel of a yard and pertaining to the customary tenement of the said Barth called Joldens and lying behind the tenement of Wm Peartree also Evans senior and containing in length 4rod and in breadth 2rod and a half abutting upon the tenement of Robt Nicoll on the northern part and upon an orchard late of Edw Potter late Rookes on the southern part and upon a parcel of the said tenement called Joldens on the eastern part to the use and behoof of the said Wm Peartree also Evans his heirs and assigns forever to whom the same said Wm present in court and seeking this the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the said parcel of the said yard to Wm his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine
