at a court held 9.2.1667 Thos Rayner and Sarah his wife were admitted to them and the heirs of the said Thos to one messuage with barn orchard and garden called Stacys with appurtenances now at this court it appeared that Thos died before this court and that the said Thos on 11.9.1682 surrendered the premises by the hands of Jn Fletcher instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Fletcher junior and Jas Pryor etc to the use of his last will upon which at this court Thos Rayner son and heir of the said Thos came and showed the will dated 29.5.last the tenor concerning the premises as follows I give and bequeath unto my eldest son Thos Rayner all that my messuage or tenement wherein I now dwell situate and being in Earls Colne called Stacys with the barns stables outhouses and gardens orchards with the appurtenances to him and his heirs forever and Thos Rayner was admitted etc and gave fine and made fealty
