fine 20sWm Smithe at the court with the leet of the 29Eliz1 took to him and his heirs by copy of the surrender of Wm Inman clerk one customary tenement called Goolds with appurtenances in Earls Colne aforesaid holden by fealty suit of court and rent of 15d by the year the said tenement was of Thos Underwood by the surrender of Thos Warner as appears in the court of the 12Eliz1 and 27Eliz1 and the same Wm Smithe being now required came in his own proper person and surrendered the said tenement with appurtenances into the lord's hands by the hands of the said steward to the use and behoof of Robt Reade and Rose his wife for term of their lives and the longer liver of them the remainder thereof after the death of them the said Robt and Rose to Robt Reade their son and his heirs forever to which Robt and Rose and Robt Reade their son the lord by his steward aforesaid delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have to them in form aforesaid viz to the said Robt and Rose for term of their lives and the longer liver of them the remainder after the death of them etc to the said Robt Reade and his heirs forever to hold of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor by fealty suit of court and rent of 15d by the year and also by all other customs and services therefore before due and of right accustomed and for such their estate they made fine and fealty with the lord and so are admitted etc
