fine 10sit is found by the homage of this court that Rich Robient son and heir of Jn Robient out of this court and since the last court of this manor here holden surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of Edw Read bailiff in the presence of Jn Parker and Robt Rookes customary tenants of the manor the same witnessing according to the custom of this manor one piece of land late parcel of the waste of this manor containing 1r2p lying besides Windmillhill in the town of Earls Colne aforesaid viz between the garden called Cloppehams of the part of the south and the highway there on the part of the north one head thereof abutting upon the green there toward the east and the other head thereof abutting upon Windemillhill toward the west to which he was admitted in right of inheritance as son and heir of the said Jn Robient his father as appears in the court of this manor here holden in 27Eliz1 to the use and behoof of Edw Clemens and of his heirs to which Edw the lord by his steward by virtue of the surrender aforesaid delivered seisin thereof by the rod according to the custom of this manor to have to him and his heirs to hold of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor and by fealty suit of court and rent of 4d by the year to be paid at the usual terms of this manor and by all other services and customs therefore before due and of right accustomed and the same Edw made fine and fealty with the lord for his estate aforesaid in the foresaid parcel of land and so is admitted the lord's tenant thereof in form aforesaid
