fine 8swhereas at the leet with the court here holden on thursday the 20.8.26Eliz1 etc Ann Polley cousin and heir of Adam Polley viz daughter and heir of Adam deceased son and heir of the same Adam was admitted the lord's tenant to her and her heirs of one cottage sometime builded with a garden adjoining called Charles Paines lying in Earls Colne aforesaid viz between the churchyard of the parish church of Colne aforesaid of one side towards the north and the way leading to Colne Park on the other side towards the south one head thereof abutting upon the church green towards the east and the other head thereof abutting upon the Halleyard as by copy of the roll of the same court shown here in this court more at large appeareth now to this court came Jn Spencer and the said Ann his wife and the same Ann being alone and secretly examined by the steward aforesaid as the manner is surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of his steward aforesaid the foresaid cottage and garden with all and singular the appurtenances to the use and behoof of Robt Reade and his heirs to which Robt present here in the court there is seisin thereof delivered to have and to hold to him and his heirs of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor aforesaid by the rents services and customs therefore due and of right accustomed and he made fine and fealty with the lord and is admitted tenant thereof
