whereas at a court here held tuesday 5.8.37Eliz1 Hen Bridge was admitted tenant of the lord to himself and his heirs by the surrender of Wm Ennewes and Israel Ennewes to one cottage with a garden adjoining with appurtenances called Beriffs alias John Wrights as shown by the court roll now it appears to the homage aforesaid that after the last court and out of court viz 26.4.38Eliz1 the aforesaid Hen Bridge surrendered all and singular the premises with appurtenances into the hands of the lord by the hands of Robt Cobbe instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Church and Edm Potter two customary tenants of this manor witnessing according to the custom of the manor aforesaid to the work and use of Roger Harlakenden his heirs and assigns on the condition that if the aforesaid Hen Bridge his heirs or assigns pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Roger Harlakenden his heirs or assigns the whole sum and sums of money at the time and place limited and contained in certain articles of indenture made between the said Roger Harlakenden on the one part and the said Hen Bridge on the other part made and dated the day of the agreement that then with the performance of all the agreements concessions articles and agreements mentioned and contained in the said article of indenture on his part that then this present surrender to be void and of no effect otherwise to be in full force and effect
