fine 40swhereas at a view with court here held thursday 20.8.26Eliz1 Thos Lemington alias Bailey was admitted tenant to himself and his heirs to two parcels of customary land late parcel of customary land called Chewnysland containing by estimation 8a of land more or less on which is now built a tenement as appears by copy of court roll now it appears to the homage aforesaid that after the last court and before this court the aforesaid Thos Lemington alias Bailey died and that before he died viz on 28.11.1599 he surrendered all and singular the premises with appurtenances into the hands of the lord by the hands of Edw Catt instead of the bailiff in the presence of Thos Sandsome and Robt Parker two customary tenants of this manor witnessing according to the custom of the manor aforesaid to the work and use of Margt his wife for the term of her natural life on a condition that the aforesaid Margt pay or cause to be paid all the debts of the said Thos Lemington alias Bailey by him sustained and after the death of the said Margt the remainder to Jn Lemington alias Bailey the son of the said Thos Lemington alias Bailey and his heirs forever on a condition that the said Jn Bailey alias Lemington his heirs or assigns pay or cause to be paid to Margt Bailey alias Lemington and Mary Bailey alias Lemington daughters of the said Thos Lemington alias Bailey deceased viz to each of them the sum of 6li13s4d within four years next after the death of the said Margt his mother and if the said Jn Bailey alias Lemington fails to pay the several sums as above said within four years it shall be lawful for the said Margt and Mary the daughters to enter into the premises and hold them to their own use for the term of four years next following which Margt present here in the court is granted seisin to have to herself for the term of her life on the condition aforesaid to hold of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor aforesaid by the rents services and customs before due and of right accustomed and she made fine and fealty to the lord and was admitted thereof tenant
