whereas at a court here held monday being 20.4.1601 Geo Sewell was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to one grove or little bushet containing by estimation 1a2r called Colne Grove alias Cole Grove lying in Halstead as by a court roll here in court produced it is clearly shown and whereas also at a court here held 8.1.1612 it was shown by the homage that the aforesaid Geo Sewell out of court and before this same court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Robt Ince instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Parker and Israel Enowes two customary tenants the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor all the aforesaid premises with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Wm Collin and Isabel his wife and the heirs of the body of the said Eliz (Isabel ) legitimately procreated and to be procreated and in default of such heirs the remainder thereof to the said Geo Sewell and his heirs forever and because neither the aforesaid Wm Collin nor Isabel nor anyone on their behalf came to that same court to take the premises out of the hands of the lord and to agree with the lord for a fine therefore the aforesaid premises at that time at that court were seised into the hands of the lord as by a roll of that same court here in court produced it is clearly shown now to this court came the aforesaid Wm Collin and Isabel his wife by Wm Dashe on their behalf as their attorney and humbly sought for them admittance to the premises to whom the lord by his steward granted thereof seisin to have to them the aforesaid Wm Collin and Isabel his wife and the heirs of the body of the said Eliz (Isabel ) legitimately procreated and to be procreated and in default of such issue the remainder thereof to the said Geo Sewell and his heirs forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine as is shown in the margin
