whereas at a court here held 14.10.1624 Dan Lea and Eliz his wife were admitted tenants of the lord for themselves and the heirs of the said Dan to one cottage or messuage with appurtenances called Carters as is shown by the court roll that same Eliz died before this court now to this court came the aforesaid Dan Lea and in full and open court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the said steward the said messuage or cottage with yards gardens and appurtenances now in the tenure or occupation of Robt Lea or his assigns with half the well in the yard of the said messuage as it is now occupied to the use and behoof of Walt Pease and Frances his wife and the heirs of their bodies legitimately procreated upon which came here into court the said Walt and Frances and humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage or cottage with garden yard and half the well aforesaid with appurtenances to Walt and Frances and the heirs of their bodies legitimately procreated from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine and made fealty
