whereas at a court held for the said manor 28.12.1640 it was presented by the homage that Hen Coney who held to him and his heirs one messuage with the appurtenances called Copes upon Colneford Hill did surrender the same to the use of himself and Mary his wife and the heirs of the said Hen upon condition that the said Mary shall within two years after the decease of the said Hen pay to Jane Cony the daughter of the said Hen 10li of lawful English money and whereas at a court held 30.12.1651 it was presented that the said Hen since the then last court died and the said Mary did him survive now at this court the said Mary being present in court humbly prayed to be admitted tenant to the premises to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage with the appurtenances to the said Mary and her assigns for and during the term of her life of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services due and she gave to the lord her fine
