at a court held 8.4.1712 Sam Bott was admitted to him and heirs to one messuage or tenement with yards gardens and orchards belonging to said tenement called Brayes situate in street called Church Street in Earls Colne now in occupation of Eliz Downes widow now at this court appears to homage that Sam Bott 27.10.last past surrendered by the rod into hand of lord by hand of Sam Carter in place of the bailiff in presence of Hen Adams senior and Wm Boosby two customary tenants etc the said messuage or tenement with yards gardens and orchards appertaining with appurtenances to use of Jos Bott of Earls Colne his heirs and assigns forever and after comes into court Jos Bott and humbly petitions etc admitted to premises etc fealty respited
