whereas at a court here held wednesday 19.4.40Eliz1 Agnes wife of Wm Paine and Mary wife of Geo Mowlde were admitted tenants to themselves and their heirs to three crofts of customary land called Warkemans lying together containing by estimation 10a of land more or less etc late in the tenure of Thos Rolte as is divided by metes and bounds now at this court came the aforesaid Wm Paine and Agnes his wife and the said Agnes solely and secretly examined by the steward surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the steward aforesaid all her half purport and interest of and in the afo resaid three crofts of land with appurtenances to the work and use of the aforesaid Geo Mowlde his heirs and assigns who present in court came and petitioned admittance thereunto and the lord by the steward aforesaid granted seisin by the rod to have and to hold to himself and his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor by the rents and services before due and of right accustomed and he gave to the lord the fine as is shown at the head and made fealty and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord and afterwards at this present court came the aforesaid Geo Mowlde and Mary his wife the said Mary solely and secretly examined by the steward and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the steward aforesaid the aforesaid three crofts of customary land with appurtenances called Warkemans as is shown etc to the work and use of Rose now wife of Jn Church and her assigns for and during the term of the natural life of the said Rose to remain after her decease to Jn Church son of the aforesaid Jn Church and Rose his wife and to his heirs and assigns forever to which Rose present here in court the lord by the steward aforesaid granted seisin by the rod to have and to hold to the said Rose and her assigns during the term of the life of the said Rose the remainder as above of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor aforesaid by the rents and services before due and of right accustomed and she gave to the lord a fine as is shown at the head and made fealty and was admitted thereof tenant
