whereas at a court here held wednesday 19.4.40Eliz1 Agnes wife of Wm Paine and Mary wife of Geo Mowlde daughters of Jn Barrett late of Earls Colne aforesaid deceased were admitted tenants to themselves and their heirs to one parcel of customary land containing by estimation 18r of land parcel of a croft called Warkemans one head abuts on a garden called Sibbreds on the east part the other head abuts on a parcel of land called Sibbreds on the part of the south as by metes and bounds is clearly divided and shown now at this court came the aforesai d Wm Paine and Agnes his wife and the said Agnes solely and secretly examined by the steward surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the steward aforesaid her whole half purport and interest of and in the aforesaid parcel of land with appurtenances to the work and use of the aforesaid Geo Mowlde his heirs and assigns forever who present in the court came and asked to be admitted and the lord by the steward aforesaid granted seisin by the rod to hold to himself and his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor aforesaid by the rents and services before due and of right accustomed and he gave the lord the fine as is shown at the head and made fealty and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord and afterwards at this present court came the aforesaid Geo Mowlde and Mary his wife and the said Mary solely and secretly examined by the steward surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the steward aforesaid the aforesaid parcel of land with appurtenances called Warkemans as shown etc to the work and use of Rose now wife of Jn Church and her assigns for and during the natural life of the said Rose to remain after her decease to Jn Church son of the aforesaid Jn Church and Rose his wife and his heirs and assigns forever to which Rose present here in court the lord by the steward granted seisin by the rod to hold to herself and the heirs and assigns of the said Rose during the term of the life of the said Rose to remain as above of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor aforesaid by the rents and services before due and of right accustomed and the aforesaid Rose gave the lord the fine as is shown at the head and made fealty and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord
