whereas Jn King of Headingham Sibble in the county of Essex grocer son of Jn King of the same town and county aforesaid and Hannah Yardley of Coggeshall Magna in the county of Essex daughter of Robt Yardley of the same town and county yeo propounded their intentions of marriage unto several meetings of the people of god called quakers in Earls Colne and Halstead and the said meetings having made inquiry concerning them and finding them clear and free from all other persons and nothing appearing to hinder their proceedings in their said intentions of marriage the said (meetings) gave their consent in the matter these are therefore to certify all whom it doth or may concern that for the full accomplishment of their said intentions the said Jn King did come into out public meeting place in Coggeshall Magna upon the 1.3.1682 and in a public assembly then and there met in our presence did signify their then taking each other in marriage pronouncing these words following with an audible voice viz the said Jn King taking the said Hannah Yardley by the hand said friends I Jn King take Hannah Yardley to be my wife in the fear of the lord and in the presence of this congregation promising to be a loving and faithful husband unto her until death separate then the said Hannah Yardley taking the said Jn King by the hand said friends I Hannah Yardley take Jn King to be my husband in the fear of the lord and before this assembly promising to be a faithful and loving wife until death separate and for the better confirmation of this their said marriage the parties have subscribed their names and we who were then present were witnesses that they were so married Jn King Hannah Yardley Robt Yardley Jn King sen Jn Ludgater Jon Bowle Robt Bowle Isaac King Robt Ludgater Geo Harvey Jn Salmon Jn Wilcocks Wm Ashpoole Jn Fryitt Peter Jervice Ed Mines Sarah Ludgater Jane King Martha King Mary King Sarah Groome Ann Meaken Eliz Drywood
