Brownes Tenement | whereas at a view with court here held monday being 23.9.1611 Rich Parker was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to one messuage with garden adjoining with their appurtenances sometime of Rich Browne and later Wm Davison as by metes etc with one way pertaining to the said messuage to carry and recarry from the said garden of the messuage into the lane called Berecroft Lane as by a roll of a certain court fully shown now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Rich Parker after the last court and before this court died seised in his demesne as of fee of the said premises and before his death surrendered the said premises with appurtenances into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm Dashe instead of the bailiff in the presence of Thos Smyth and Robt Crowe two customary tenants of the same manor the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor to the use and behoof of his last will and testament the tenor of which testament concerning the premises in the following english words viz all the rest of my lands and tenements by what name or names soever they be called or known both free and copy I give and bequeath unto Eliz Parker my daughter and to her heirs forever as by the said testament here in court produced bearing the date 29.12.1618 and proved under the signature of the ordinary for this place clearly shown and also the homage present that after the death of the said Rich the father of the said Eliz and before this court the aforesaid Eliz Parker being of the age of 1year and a half or thereabouts and the only daughter and next heir of the aforesaid Rich died seised of the said premises with appurtenances in her demesne as of fee and that Margt now wife of Hugh Potter Agnes now wife of Jn Bullock Jane now wife of Thos Machin and Ann now wife of Jn Kent are sisters of the said Rich Parker and aunts and next heirs of the aforesaid Eliz and should have the right to the said premises upon which to this court came the aforesaid Margt Agnes Jane and Ann and humbly sought from the lord admittance to the said premises to whom the lord by his said steward granted to them seisin thereof to have to them and their heirs forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine and were admitted tenants of the lord |
