This is marked 265 (265) in the Commutation map - but neither form or quantity corresponds with the manorial records.
I give this sketch from the Terrier of 1598 where it is thus described - " Jn Buntinge holdeth by copy of court roll of the said manor one croft or pightle of land lying between the free land of Jn Ailett called Procknutts towards the north east and west the one head abutting upon the lands of Jn Wade towards the north and the other head upon Crossgate Lane towards the south south east and containeth 1a38p " - I believe this was originally no part of Procknutts - in 1626 Joan wife of Thos Price otherwise Pierce and daughter of Joan Buntinge succeeded to it and at same court surrendered it to Wm Aylett the proprietor of Procknutts (now Colne Gate House) and since that time it has been called Procknutts . From the Aylett's it passed with their other property to Jn Littell in 1706 The cottage was built after it was in the possession of the Aylett's and was burnt down three or four years ago and has not been since rebuilt by mr Honywood (Burnt down 0.6.1848 - had not been rebuilt and the ground is laid to the adjoining field - H.H.C. 1859 )
